'and then one day'

and then one day
you saw through

the drizzle,the fog-
bound gloom

and what you knew
as huge gray

boulders,unleashed
from the towering

mountain and
pounding down

towards us on
this narrow
path

were really
thousands

of iridescent
hummingbirds

in wild play,

thriving
together

and falling
deeper

in love with
the sun's

sparkling
warmth.

love's murky ambience

'for Heidi'

your hair is natural and good
in its beautiful brevity

like the pine comb nestled
above me in a green tree,

it's soft brown intricate surface
beckons me and covers many

seeds of new life ready to sail
aloft on a fresh breeze on a bright

and mild day, then when tiring from
its airborne adventure, in a gesture

of infinite trust, she drops down onto
mother earth to sprout in living soil

and to be birthed as a proud
and strong welcoming tree,

evergreen
evergood
everhere.

'apple'

So much of this life
is an apple fat and crisp

crimson, sweet delicious
juice coats the purest

pink of your hungry tongue
then pierces my blazing eyes.
